The Group A era of 1982 to 1994 yielded an array of crushingly effective homologation specials that went on to dominate their respective categories. In rallying it was the four-wheel drive Lancia Delta HF and subsequent Integrale that proved unbeatable while the top two classes in touring cars went on to be dominated by the BMW E30 M3 and Ford Sierra Cosworth.

Powered by a single turbo engine seemingly capable of infinite tuning, the Sierra Cosworth reigned supreme until 1990 when it was unceremoniously dethroned by a state-of-the-art new model from the Land of the Rising Sun.

With its twin turbocharged straight six engine, four-wheel drive and four-wheel steering, the Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R proved so crushingly effective that the rule-makers soon abandoned Group A in favour of new regulations that left the GT-R out in the cold.

Although Nissan had originally expected to sell little more than the 5000 cars required for Group A homologation, the R32 GT-R proved so popular that nearly 44,000 were eventually completed by the time production came to an end in 1994.

One of the finest examples of these is currently on offer at the Contempo Concept showroom in Kowloon, Hong Kong.

Manufactured during 1993 and painted arguably the most desirable colour for an R32 (Gun Grey Metallic), this one previous owner GT-R has covered just 21,000km and comes complete with its original book pack.

Price: HK$980,000
