One to Buy: 1 owner 40,000km 1996 Nissan R33 Skyline GT-R LM Limited V-spec
/ Ben Tyer
If prices are anything to go buy, today’s market seems to most highly prize R34 iterations of the Skyline GT-R. However, here at Supercar Nostalgia we much prefer the more elegant R32 and R33 iterations. Of these, one of our favourites is the R33-based LM Limited, a special edition produced to celebrate the GT-R’s participation in the 1995 and ‘96 Le Mans 24 Hours.
Offered from May 1996, the GT-R LM Limited was offered in one colour only: Championship Blue. Fitted as standard were N1 brake cooling ducts in the front bumper, an N1 intake lip for the leading edge of the bonnet, a carbonfibre central element for the rear spoiler and commemorative decals on the C-pillars.
In total, just 188 examples of the LM Limited were manufactured and currently on offer at the HJA Imports showroom in Harlow, Essex, is probably one of the best to exist: number 50.
Significantly, number 50 is one of the 102 LM Limiteds to have been ordered with Nissan’s V-spec. package that included stiffer springs and dampers, a lower ride height, a four-wheel independent channel anti-lock braking system and the updated ATTESA E-TS Pro all-wheel drive with an Active Limited-Slip differential.
Having resided with one Japanese collector since new, number 50 has covered just 40,000km and looks to be in absolutely superb, totally original condition throughout. It comes with the original book pack.
Fit a set of gold-centred BBS LM wheels and you’d have one of the best looking GT-Rs ever.
