One to Buy: Black on Gold BBS LM 1997 Nissan R33 Skyline GT-R

The 1990s was an undeniably great time for automotive styling and here at Supercar Nostalgia we don’t think there are many better looking cars from this era than an R33 Skyline GT-R riding on a set of BBS LM wheels.
Fortunately, the R32 launched in 1989 and that revived the GT-R moniker last seen back in 1973 had proven a massive commercial success which pretty much guaranteed a replacement. Having only needed to shift 5000 examples of what became known as Godzilla, nearly 44,000 units were ultimately completed as Nissan’s flagship model became a modern day icon.
In typical 90s fashion, the subsequent R33-based Skyline GT-R had a softer, smoother profile and has stood the test of time arguably better than any other high performance Japanese super sports car of the late 20th century.

Undoubtedly one of the coolest R33 GT-R’s we’ve seen recently is currently residing in the I Autoobile Group showroom in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
Configured in perhaps the best combination for one of these models, Black with 18-inch gold-centred BBS LM wheels, the car has a few other subtle modifications to include a Nismo 320kmh speedometer and a Momo steering wheel.
Completed during the penultimate year of production (1997), this super example of the R33 theme is currently showing 80,000km and looks to be in superb condition throughout. Given the choice of any JDM classic from this golden period, the Nissan has it.
