One to Buy: 7800km Glacier White 1994 Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R

Thanks to a turbocharged engine that seemingly offered unlimited tuning potential, it was always going to take something special to topple Ford’s Sierra RS Cosworth from the top of the Group A Touring Car tree.

However, that is precisely what Nissan created when it revived the legendary GT-R moniker for its R32 Skyliene that broke cover in August 1989.

With a twin turbocharged straight six engine, four-wheel drive, four-wheel steering and state-of-art electronics, the R32 GT-R instantly made every other Group A contender obsolete. It ultimately proved sufficiently unstoppable that many governing bodies elected to switch to the new Super Touring formula rather than wait for a manufacturer to dethrone the monster from Japan.

Surprisingly, although Group A regulations only required a production run of 5000 cars for homologation, and the fact the R32 GT-R was essentially a Japanese Domestic Market special, Nissan eventually sold nearly 44,000 examples of a model that quickly came to be regarded as a modern day sports car icon.

Currently on the market with Premium Classics in Boxtel, the Netherlands, is a low mileage example from the last six months of production in astoundingly fresh condition.

Manufactured in May 1994 and configured in Crystal White with the familiar Anthracite interior, this most exceptional R32 has covered a mere 7800km and appears to be a true timewarp unrestored example.
