One to Buy: 18,000km Red Pearl Metallic 1994 Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R V-spec II
With a state-of-art specification that none of its challengers could rival, Nissan’s R32 Skyline GT-R became one of the most successful Group A Touring Car of its era.
It then repeated the trick in GT racing.
To commemorate the GTR’s incredibly successful competition career, Nissan named its high performance pack available from January 1993 as Victory or V-spec.
Bigger brake discs were added along with a beefed-up brake master cylinder, superior Brembo brake calipers and 17-inch BBS wheels.
In February 1994, the V-spec II package arrived which added a retuned ATTESA E-TS four-wheel drive system and wider tyres. It was only available for nine months as R32 GT-R production stopped in November 1994.
Customers could choose to have their V-spec Skyline painted any of the colours available on the rest of the R32 GT-R range, but our favourites here at Supercar Nostalgia are the rarely seen Red Pearl Metallic (AH3) and Dark Blue Pearl (2M8).
Precisely how many V-spec II GT-Rs were produced in either of these colours is unknown, but one of the no doubt exceptionally rare V Spec IIs finished in Red Pearl Metallic is currently residing at the Contempo Concept showroom in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
A three previous owner example from the V Spec II’s only year in production (1994), this superb GT-R has covered a little under 19,000km. Get shot of the audio head unit, Bose speakers and fit a new old stock parcel shelf and you have an epic A-grade R32.
