One to Buy: 32,000km Spark Silver Metallic 1994 Nissan R32 Skyline GT-R

Although the market seems to favour Nissan’s last (to date) iteration of the Skyline GT-R, at Supercar Nostalgia we prefer the more aesthetically pleasing R32 and R33 variants.

In terms of desirability, a legitimate case can be made for either the R32 or R33, but with the former’s substantially larger production run (circa 44,000 units compared to around 16,000), the fourth generation GT-R manufactured between 1989 and 1994 is normally the most affordable. As the lightest, it offers arguably the best driving characteristics of any Skyline too.

On October 31st, one of the best R32 Skyline GT-Rs to have hit the market in recent months will be going under the hammer during Bingo Sports’ BH Auction event in Tokyo Bay.

A late model example from the final year of production (1994), chassis BNR32-307830 was ordered in rarely seen Spark Silver Metallic. It heads to auction in remarkably original condition with just under 32,000km showing on the odometer, a number backed by the accompanying book pack.

According to BH Auction: “What is most astonishing is the overwhelming degree of originality emanating from the entire vehicle. From the muffler and air cleaner to the suspension, it stubbornly maintains the original Nissan specifications from that era. And the fact that these parts are in such beautiful condition is what makes this particular car special.

Opening the heavy door and stepping into the cabin, you are greeted with a perfect preservation of its new car days. The dashboard lifting, the original seats sagging, and the steering wheel wear, all common signs of ageing in the R32, are minimised, eloquently attesting to the legitimacy of its mileage of "31,867km." The centre console still houses the original Nissan audio system, which is now a miracle to discover, giving you the illusion of having travelled back in time to a Nissan dealer showroom in 1994.”
