Having only fleetingly raced previous iterations of the GT-R outside of Japan, Nissan decided to embark upon a more international programme with their latest R35.

The intention was to win the inaugural FIA GT1 World Championship of 2010.

To this end, Nismo were commissioned to create a GT1 version of the R35 GT-R which would be supplied to a small number of hand-picked satellite teams.

One of these works-assisted outfits was the British Sumo Power / JR Motorsports outfit which in 2010 most notably won round two, the Silverstone Tourist Trophy, en route to a sixth place finish in the Team’s Championship.

A dramatic uptick in form during the 2011 campaign saw JR Motorsports’ Michael Krumm and Lucas Luhr crowned Driver’s champions. That year, JR Motorsports also finished second in the Team’s standings.

Currently on offer at the Art & Revs showroom in Howald, Luxembourg, is one of the five cars built by Nismo for the GT1 World Championship campaign.

Chassis 102 was the GT-R which took that famous win at Silverstone in 2010 driven by Jamie Campbell-Walter and Warren Hughes.

It is offered in highly original condition with a huge spares package and has completed just two hours of running since it left JR Motorsports.

Opportunities to acquire genuine Nismo-built GT racing cars are very few and far between; with its race winning history at World Championship level, this would make an ideal centrepoint to any collection of Japanese motor cars or simply a highly competitive entry to the historic Endurance Racing Legends or Masters Endurance Series.

Reprinted below is Art & Rev’s description for this most significant modern era GT-R racing car:

  • One of 5 Nismo built GT1 cars

  • Raced the 2010 and 2011 FIA GT1 World Championships

  • Very low hours & enormous spares package

This fantastic Nissan GTR GT1 chassis 102 raced in the 2010 and 2011 FIA GT1 World Championship as a JRM factory entry.

The car notably won the 2010 Tourist Trophy at Silverstone driven by Jamie Campbell Walter and Warren Hughes. In 2011 the sister car won the Championship and JRM finished 2nd at the Team’s Championship.

The Nissan GT1 was a proper Nissan Nismo project partly subcontracted to JRM for assembly and race exploitation. Both chassis and engine (aspired 5,5 liter V8 unit) were built in Japan at Nismo.

The car only has 2 hours since it left JRM and can only be described as being fabulous original condition. Chassis 102 comes as a package with a huge amount of spare parts including a nearly complete set of body panels and mechanical components with the exception of the engine.

This is a fabulous opportunity to purchase simultaneously a FIA GT1 factory car with winning history and a perfect car to enter in the Endurance Racing Legends or Master Endurance Series.
