History of chassis 048
Chassis 048 was the 44th McLaren F1 production car built and one of just seven completed in 1996.
Uniquely configured in Brilliant Blue Metallic with an interior upholstered in a mix of blue leather, alcantara and carpet, 048 was delivered to its first Swiss owner in December 1996 as a 50th birthday gift from his wife.
048 remained in the possession of its first owner until 2013, at which point it had covered a little over 10,000km.
The car was sold to its second owner by Kidston SA who also handled 048’s subsequent sale in 2017 when the odometer was showing circa 12,000km.
