One to Buy: 1 of 1 single owner Monaco White 1995 Bugatti EB110 GT

Of all the ill-fated projects born during the late 1980s collector car boom, none proved costlier than the epic Bugatti EB110.

Having purchased the Bugatti naming rights in 1987, Italian industrialist Romano Artioli put together an outstanding technical team to develop a state-of-art scratch-built supercar and simultaneously funded the construction of a brand new factory in Campogalliano.

Unfortunately, by the time the carbon-tubbed EB110 with its quad turbo V12 was finally launched in September 1991, trading conditions had turned sour and potential customers had all but disappeared.

Bugatti ultimately closed its doors during the autumn of 1995.

Set to go under the hammer at Artcurial’s Retromobile sale in Paris on February 8th is one of the last examples of the all-wheel drive EB110 GT: chassis GT 099.

Uniquely configured in Monaco Bianco (the only EB110 GT painted as such), chassis ‘099’ was homologated on May 10th 1995 and delivered to Bugatti’s Monegasque distributor, Monte-Carlo Royal Motors, from where it was purchased by the consigning French owner who has retained it ever since.

The car is being offered in superb original condition with a little over 19,000km on the odometer.
