One to Buy: 3600km Exposed Carbonfibre 2015 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse
/ Ben Tyer
Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2012, the Grand Sport Vitesse was a Roadster version of Bugatti’s hot Veyron Super Sport. 92 were completed by the time production came to an end in 2015.
As the fastest and most powerful open top production car ever manufactured, the Grand Sport Vitesse went down as a fitting finale to the Veyron series and established a new high watermark in Roadster design.
Like the revered Super Sport, the Grand Sport Vitesse featured an array of notable upgrades over the base Veyron to include an all-carbonfibre body, a revised aero kit and more powerful 1187bhp engine plus tub, suspension, wheel and gearbox upgrades.
As a consequence of its all carbonfibre outer panels, Bugatti was able to offer the Grand Sport Vitesse (like the Super Sport) with a new fully lacquered visible carbonfibre finish - at a 20% premium over list price it was probably the most expensive optional extra of all time.
Less than 20 owners took up the chance so these cars are rarely seen, but just such a machine, chassis ‘075’ is currently on offer in Dubai through DK Engineering.
One of four GSVs in Black visible carbonfibre, ‘075’ was further optioned with a long list of personalisations and is currently showing just 3600km on the odometer.
