One to Buy: Jet Grey ex-Geneva Motor Show 2012 Bugatti Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse

As the priciest iteration of the world’s most expensive car, Bugatti’s Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse just about summed up this spectacular engineering achievement.

An open top version of the tuned-to-eleven Veyron Super Sport, the Grand Sport Vitesse retailed at €1.75m pre tax in basic trim, but some customers went on to spend almost double that having highly customised cars produced. In total, 92 copies of the Grand Sport Vitesse were built during a production run that lasted from 2012 until 2015.

At Broad Arrow Auctions’ Zurich sale on November 7th, the Grand Sport Vitesse that Bugatti chose as one of two for the model’s 2012 Geneva Motor Show world debut will be going under the hammer: chassis No. VF9SV25282M795015.

Displayed alongside a two-tone Blue sister car at the Geneva Salon, chassis ‘015’ stood out on account of its unusual Jet Grey exterior with black and exposed carbonfibre trim. Inside, Bugatti configured the car with two-tone Black and Tangerine upholstery plus more exposed carbon mixed this time with silver trim. To commemorate its special status, chassis ‘015’s sill and luggage compartment plates were engraved “Geneva Motorshow 2012”.

According to Broad Arrow Auctions: “Following its role in introducing the Grand Sport Vitesse to the world at the exalted Geneva Motor Show, chassis 015 enjoyed private collector ownership in Europe. The car is accompanied by its speed key, book pack and presentation box with just 16,802km recorded at the time of cataloguing.”
