VIN: Bugatti EB110 SS chassis SS39005
History of chassis SS39005
Chassis SS39005 was the third SS prototype and the first to feature the trademark five-porthole sail panel treatment.
It was painted Grigio Chiaro and upholstered with a mono-tone Nero interior.
As one of the SS prototypes, ‘05’ had a number of special features; the intakes, rear spoiler and the way certain panels were attached all differed slightly from subsequent production examples.
In addition to having served as a test mule, ‘05’ went on to star at a number of international motor shows (by which time a standard front lid without the NACA ducts had been installed). It most famously appeared at Frankfurt in October 1993, Bologna in December 1993 and Detroit in January 1994.
The car has not been seen in public since 1994 and its current whereabouts are unknown.
