VIN: Walter Wolf's Lamborghini Countach LP400 chassis 1120006
History of chassis 1120006
Chassis 1120006 was completed on May 31st 1974.
It was the first Countach supplied to a customer, in this case Lamborghini VIP, Walter Wolf.
Wolf had owned three Miuras to include an SV which the factory subsequently rebuilt from the ground up to incorporate a number of special modifications.
Wolf later commissioned a brace of famous Countach Speciale hot rods at considerable expense. He also received the first Countach S in 1978.
Walter Wolf made his fortune trading oil cargoes and providing technical services to the oil industry.
In the mid-to-late 1970s, he became something of a personality in the F1 paddock and went on to create his own race-winning Grand Prix team.
Chassis 1120006 was the only LP400 painted white with a black interior.
Six days before Wolf received it, this famous early Countach was used as the pace car at the Imola 1000km World Sportscar Championship race. It then returned to the factory where it was uniquely equipped with an adjustable spoiler mounted over the engine.
Walter Wolf collected chassis 1120006 on June 8th 1974. He ran it on the Italian export plate EE 60564.
Soon after taking delivery, the rear wing was removed.
Wolf kept the car for just over a year, during which time it was frequently seen around Sant’Agata and Monte Carlo.
Wolf returned the white LP400 to the factory when his first Countach hot rod was ready for delivery (chassis 1120148).
Like so many LP400s, 1120006 was then exported to Japan.
