VIN: the Rod Stewart Lamborghini Miura P400 SV chassis 4818

HISTORY OF CHASSIS 4818

Chassis 4818 was one of the seven Miuras built new to SV trim in right-hand drive.

The car was ordered by renowned British singer-songwriter, Rod Stewart, who had previously owned two other Miuras: chassis 3372 (a white P400) and chassis 4863 (a white P400 S).

For this latest Miura, Stewart opted for Giallo paint with Bleu upholstery. Chassis 4818 was also optioned with air-conditioning and a Phillips radio cassette player that incorporated a recording function.

Following completion on May 31st 1972, the yellow Miura was dispatched to Lamborghini GB on Alie Street in Tower Hamlets, London. It was subsequently registered LUC 38K. Upon taking delivery, Stewart sold his white Miura S.

During the next 13 years, Rod Stewart racked up 18,000 miles in chassis 4818. He also had the colour scheme changed to metalflake silver, lime green and finally black. At some point the interior was re-upholstered with velour fabric.

In 1985 the black SV (which was also riding on a set of black-painted wheels) was sold to dealer Michael Fisher who collected the car from a lock up owned by Stewart’s father in Archway, North London. Fisher in turn sold chassis 4818 to Mark Walker of Essex who later had the car put back to its original colour scheme. The yellow Miura subsequently appeared in January 1995’s edition of Classic Cars magazine.

Following its sale at Bonhams’ 2003 Goodwood Revival auction, chassis 4818 returned to Lamborghini where it underwent a ground up restoration.
