One to Buy: Number 20 of 150 1994 Lamborghini Diablo SE30
/ Ben Tyer
Five years after Lamborghini had celebrated its 25th anniversary with a last-of-the-line Countach, the firm’s 30th was marked with a tricked out Diablo: the SE30.
Limited to 150 units, the SE30 was a lighter, more powerful and more focused machine than the standard rear-drive Diablo or its all-wheel drive VT sister. Peak output went from 492bhp to 525bhp while a massive 129kg was cut from the standard Diablo’s weight and an even more impressive 178kg when compared to the VT.
Having been unveiled during Lamborghini’s 30th anniversary celebration at Sant’Agata in September 1993, production began the following June once the limited run had all been pre-sold. The final SE30 rolled out of the factory in November 1995.
Currently on offer at the L’Art de l’Automobile showroom in Paris is Diablo SE30 number 20 which was the first example delivered in Europe.
Configured in the SE30’s trademark colour combination of Viola Metallic with Blue alcantara upholstery, number 20 was also optioned with the highly desirable four-point harnesses installed.
Ordered via Achilli Motors in Milan and collected from the factory by its first owner in July 1994, number 20 has today covered 36,000km and is presented fresh from a recent major service by Lamborghini Paris.
