One to Buy: 279 mile Grand Prix White 1995 Porsche 911 3.6 Carrera Cabriolet (993)
Unlike the 964-type 911 which had proven something of a slow seller particularly in its twilight years, the substantially revamped 993 launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1993 became a spectacular success.
Having initially only been offered as a rear-drive Coupe, Porsche introduced a Cabriolet version at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1994 and an all-wheel drive Carrera 4 that October. By the time the Carrera 4 arrived, a 285bhp engine option had been introduced as part of the ‘95 model year updates for those customers who wanted a little more poke than the regular 272bhp unit.
August 1995 saw a glass-roofed Targa and a wide-bodied Carrera 4S Coupe added to the range (for the 1996 model year) along with an even more powerful 300bhp engine option. The last year of production (1997) marked the arrival of a rear-drive wide-bodied Carrera S Coupe.
With most 993 Carreras having originally been pressed into daily driver duty, finding an ultra low mileage example is quite rare, let alone one with little more than delivery mileage.
However, that is precisely what is currently on offer with Symbolic International in Miramar, California.
Chassis ‘342941’ is a US-market Carrera Cabriolet from 1995 that has accumulated just 279 miles since new. It was configured in Grand Prix White with Black upholstery and kitted out with an array of optional extras to include a limited-slip differential, Automatic Braking Differential (ABD), Sports seats, cruise control and an elaborate audio system that comprised a Becker Porsche CR-1 head unit and remote control Nokia Digital Sound Processer.

Description:
This 1995 Porsche 911 Carrera cabriolet is a US-market car that shows 279 miles, and it has spent most of its time in storage. It was ordered in Grand Prix White over black leather, and it was specified with a limited-slip differential, an Automatic Braking Differential, and power-adjustable front sport seats.
Following initial registration history in New Jersey, the car was imported into Germany in October 2011, and it returned to the US earlier this year.
Power is supplied by a 3.6-liter flat-six paired with a six-speed manual transaxle, and additional equipment includes a black soft top, 17″ Cup II wheels, a Becker Porsche CR-1 cassette stereo, a Hi-Fi sound system, cruise control, and air conditioning.
This 993 Carrera cabriolet is now offered with the owner's manual, service records, a tool kit, an air compressor, a clean Carfax report, and a clean Arizona title.
The car is finished in Grand Prix White and features a power-retractable black soft top as well as headlight washers, fog lights, power-adjustable mirrors, a speed-activated rear spoiler, a soft top boot, a “basket handle” fixed rear spoiler with an integrated third brake light, and dual exhaust outlets. A Walter Röhrl signature is present on the fuel filler door.
Silver-finished 17″ Cup II wheels feature full-color Porsche crest center caps and are mounted with Michelin Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires, which show date codes from 2023. Braking is handled by Porsche-branded calipers over cross-drilled rotors at all four corners, and the car is equipped with an Automatic Braking Differential (ABD).
Service in February 2023 included replacing brake lines along with the primary brake cylinder.
The power-adjustable front sport seats are upholstered in black leather and feature painted backs.
Amenities include Becker Porsche CR-1 cassette stereo, a Hi-Fi sound system, cruise control, and air conditioning. A Walter Röhrl signature adorns the glove box door. The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames VDO instrumentation including a central tachometer with a 6,800-rpm redline, a 180-mph speedometer, an analog clock, and gauges for oil pressure, oil temperature, oil level, and fuel level. The six-digit odometer shows 279 miles.
The air-cooled 3.6L flat-six was factory rated at 270 horsepower and 243 lb-ft of torque.
Work in February 2023 included an oil change and replacing the fuel pump, fuel filter, and spark plugs. The results from an August 2024 inspection report are presented in the gallery. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a six-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. The clutch cylinders were replaced in February 2023.
