One to Buy: rare right-hand drive 1969 Lamborghini Miura P400 S

Having changed the motoring landscape with the original Miura which debuted in fully clothed trim at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1966, Lamborghini released a significantly improved version two-and-a-half years later.

The Miura S was unveiled at the Turin Motor Show in October 1968. Most significantly, it marked the arrival of a more powerful 370bhp engine (up from 350bhp) and re-positioned rear suspension mounts (to negate excessive squat under acceleration).

Additionally, the latest Pirelli Cinturato tyres were fitted and the interior was updated for enhanced comfort and practicality. Air-conditioning was a new addition to the options list.

Top speed rose to 176mph and the 0-62mph time dropped to just 5.9 seconds.

Miura S production ran from October 1968 to March 1971 during which time 338 were built. Of these, just 21 were right-hand drive.

Chassis 3946 was one of these 21 cars.

The 335th Miura built, it was dispatched from the Sant’Agata factory on May 14th 1969 and arrived at the British distributor, Lamborghini Concessionaires, shortly afterwards.

Configured in the iconic colour scheme of Verde Miura with a Nero leather interior, chassis 3946 was immediately registered for road use.

Today, this superb right-hand drive Miura S is on offer with Fiskens in central London. A matching numbers car, it is presented in beautiful condition having undergone a restoration by the Miura experts at the Bobileff Motor Company in California.
