History of chassis 9113600017

Chassis 9113600017 was the seventh of ten units that were either 911 2.7 Carrera RS prototypes or show cars owned and operated by the Porsche factory. It was also the first Carrera RS officially built to M472 Touring specification.

9113600017 was painted Grand Prix White with Red graphics and wheels. Like sister car chassis 9113600015 (an M471 Sport / Lightweight), 9113600017 came with a unique side decal treatment.

Upon completion in July 1972, chassis 9113600017 appeared in a series of publicity photos taken at Porsche’s Weissach test track. It then served as a press demonstrator and was later reputedly equipped by the factory with a set of cross-drilled brake discs.
