History of chassis 4828

Chassis 4828 was one of nine Miuras originally built to SV specification in right-hand drive.

It was configured in the special colour scheme of Nero Cangiante with silver wheels and matching sills. The cockpit was upholstered in Bianco leather and Nero carpet. The car was also ordered with air-conditioning.

The handsome black Miura was dispatched from Sant’Agata on June 16th 1972. It arrived at the British distributor, Lamborghini GB in the City of London, shortly afterwards.

Chassis 4828 was originally purchased by Jonathan Sieff who was an amateur racing driver and director at the Marks & Spencer chain of department stores. Between 1957 and 1960, Sieff had most notably raced a Jaguar D-type, Lister Costin and Aston Martin DB4 GT with varying degrees of success.

Jonathan Sieff registered the Miura on his private plate, JS 27, but did not use the car much or keep it very long.

In March 1972, the Miura was sold to Roger Byron-Collins with a little under 500 miles on the clock.

Byron-Collins kept the car until 1974. His wife (whom he met a few weeks after buying the Miura) was Norwegian. As a result, chassis 4828 spent much time in Norway. It was sold to make way for the first of several Espadas owing to a growing family.

The car was subsequently registered LYX 283K and appeared on the front cover of Fast Car magazine in September 1974.

It then went onto the plate OU 4.

In 1984, chassis 4828 was sold via Portman Lamborghini on George Street, London, to British Lamborghini Owners Club Chairman, Ray Beverly, who subsequently registered the car LAM 130.

In 1988, Beverly sold the car to Goran Strok and it was registered EDD 92K. Strok retained the highly original Miura until 1996, since which time it has gone through the hands of a couple more owners.
