One to Buy: 8600km Berlina Black 1992 Honda NSX

As far as Ferrari and Porsche were concerned, Honda’s NSX could not have arrived at a worse time.

While the Italian-made 348 initially sold well, its on-limit handling left much to be desired, something the superbly balanced NSX exposed in stark detail. With regard to Porsche, an ageing model line-up, inefficient manufacturing techniques and an unfortunate image had led sales to plunge off a cliff.

Amid this borderline turmoil for its esteemed European rivals, the NSX swept in and re-wrote what could be expected from a mid-range supercar. Its state-of-art specification comprised the world’s first mass-produced aluminium spaceframe chassis with a bulletproof normally aspirated V6 that pumped out 270bhp. Thanks to the NSX’s industry-leading build quality and handsome looks, Honda became the first Japanese manufacturer to really have the big boys worried.

Currently on sale at the DK Engineering showroom in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, is a low mileage NSX finished in arguably the best configuration for one of these cars: Berlina Black with matching Black upholstery.

Delivered new to Japan in 1992, the car formed part of a large collection until its arrival to the UK in 2015 and has been used sparingly throughout its life. This explains the timewarp unrestored condition which looks to be just about as good as you get.

Today, this immaculate example of the original Japanese supercar has covered a little over 8600km and is being offered complete with original book pack and tool kit.
