One to Buy: 54,000km Platinum White Pearl 1997 Honda NSX 3.2 Type S

For 1997, Honda introduced an NSX with an enlarged C32B engine in order to keep their pioneering flagship on terms with the latest offerings from Ferrari and Porsche.
By keeping the existing 78mm stroke but enlarging the cylinder bores from 90mm to 93mm, the Japanese firm’s renowned normally aspirated 90° V6 was just as responsive as before, but now displaced an additional 202cc (3179cc).
Lots of other improvements were also made to the revised engine, the net result of which was 290bhp as opposed to 270bhp at an unchanged 7100rpm plus more torque lower down the rev range: 224lb-ft at 5300rpm compared to 210lb-ft at 6500rpm previously.

Unfortunately, by the time the C32B engine was introduced, NSX sales were beginning to wind down and relatively few were built making finding one today quite the task. However, currently on offer with I Automobile in Kowloon, Hong Kong, is a superb example of the 3.2-litre NSX with just 54,000km on the clock.
Moreover, it’s one of the super desirable JDM-only Type S variants.
Introduced at the same time as the 3.2-litre C32B engine, the Type S added carbon-kevlar leather and alcantara Recaro bucket seats, lightweight BBS alloy wheels, stiffened suspension, a Momo steering wheel, a titanium shift knob, meshed cooling scoops and a body coloured roof.
Another option ticked for this particular 1997 machine was the rarely seen Platinum White Pearl which places this already collector grade NSX in another league of desirability.
