One to Buy: 23,000km 2003 Ferrari 456M GT Bicolore Scaglietti

With production of the much-loved 456 heading into its final stages, Ferrari unveiled a specially configured iteration of what was widely considered its best front-engined 2+2 ever.

Presented at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2002, the Bicolore Scaglietti came with a hitherto unseen two-tone paint finish plus uprated cross-drilled and vented brake discs. A high end audio system and satellite navigation were also fitted as standard. Ferrari announced a production run of 30 units, ten of which are rumoured to have been completed with the desirable six-speed manual gearbox.

Famously, the car Ferrari displayed at Geneva was a manual version destined for its F1 star, Michael Schumacher. The German ace opted for a Grigio Scaglietti over Grigio Nuvolari colour scheme with the wheels and front grille paint to match the lower bodywork. Inside, the cockpit was upholstered in extended Grigio Scuro leather with contrast Bordeaux stitching.

Evidently smitten by the combination displayed on Schumacher’s example, the first owner of this 456M GT Bicolore Scaglietti currently on offer at the L’Art de l’ Automobile showroom in Paris opted for an identical specification.

Supplied through Ferrari Wiesbaden on December 15th 2003, this exceptional 456M is said to be in “perfect condition” and comes with its complete book pack, tool kit and cover. The car will undergo a fresh service prior to delivery and currently shows a little over 23,000km on the odometer.
