VIN: the Iain Menzies / Larry Kinch Ferrari F40 chassis 83330

HISTORY OF CHASSIS 83330

Among the initial batch of F40s supplied to UK customers was chassis 83330 destined for Graypaul Motors in Loughborough. The lucky recipient was Iain Menzies of Holland Park, London, who had placed his order on May 21st 1988. Menzies planned to collect his F40 direct from Maranello and requested a single piece of fitted luggage be made available for the trip home to England.

Ferrari sent its invoice to Graypaul for chassis 83330 on November 30th 1989 which was followed by a Telex on December 11th confirming payment had been received and that the car was ready for collection.

Menzies picked up his brand new car on December 27th and headed home with the F40 registered on the temporary Escursionisti Esteri plate EE 944 AK.

Chassis 83330 was subsequently UK registered 40 U on January 17th 1990.

Menzies' retained the F40 until the mid 1990s, during which time he attended a number of Ferrari Owners Club track days (as depicted here at Castle Combe in early 1991). Throughout this time Graypaul Motors was retained for servicing.

The car then briefly passed through the hands of a second custodian before joining the collection of Larry Kinch who retained it for the next three decades.
