One to Buy: Nero / Verdi 3000-mile ex-Yoshiyuki Hayashi 2004 / 06 Ferrari 575 GTZ

Inspired by Zagato-bodied iterations of the Ferrari 250 GT Competizione, Japanese collector, Yoshiyuki Hayashi, commissioned a coachbuilt mid 2000s revamp based on the 575M.
Zagato’s new aluminium body for the 575M was characterised by spectacular pontoon fenders, an enormous oval nose intake with retro egg-crate grille, and a trademark Double Bubble roof. Interiors were re-trimmed throughout to the owner's specification.
Each 575 GTZ started life as a complete 575M with the structure, crash certification and drivetrain remaining untouched. Upon arrival at the Zagato works in Milan, coachwork was removed, the chassis digitally scanned and a new body installed.
Uniquely appointed to each customer’s requirement, GTZ production was limited to six cars. Yoshiyuki Hayashi ordered the first pair and, after making is debut at the 2006 Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, further commissions followed. Three open 550 Barchetta-based GTZ Barchettas took GTZ production to nine cars in total.

The second of the six 575 GTZ Berlinettas and one of the original pair commissioned by Yoshiyuki Hayashi, its specification is unlike any other from the series: Nero with Verde upholstery.
Originally completed in October 2003 as a 2004 model, delivery was made through Cornes & Co., Ferrari's long-time Japanese distributor, with first registration in March 2004. Chassis 134936 received its GTZ coachwork in 2006, leaving Zagato's workshops in February of that year.
In April 2011, the car was deregistered for export and then moved to the United States by the Symbolic Motor Car Company of San Diego, California. In January 2012, Symbolic presented the car at the XXI Palm Beach Cavallino Classic and, later that month, sold it to Danish collector, Juan Barazi. Registrations followed in Arizona, Florida, and Montana.
In November 2023, the car was entrusted to Ferrari of Seattle for a comprehensive major service that included timing belt and tensioning rollers, spark plugs, accessory belts, all filters, fresh fluids throughout, a gearbox oil service and an air-conditioning overhaul. In January 2026, Ferrari Beverly Hills performed an annual service comprising fresh engine oil, filters, brake fluid, and coolant, with both invoices retained on file.
Chassis 134936 heads to auction complete with its original book pack having covered a little over 3300 miles from new.
