One to Buy: 1 of 1 Porsche Green 2008 Ferrari 430 Scuderia
/ Ben Tyer
Two-and-a-half years after the F430’s debut, Ferrari unveiled a super hardcore high performance version conceived to take the platform to its absolute limit.
100kg lighter and 20bhp more powerful than the base model, the resultant 430 Scuderia most noticeably came with a handsome new aero kit designed to optimise downforce and ground effect. Special lightweight 19-inch double spoke forged alloy wheels held in place with titanium nuts came shod with 10mm wider front tyres for extra grip on turn-in.
Under the skin, Ferrari re-tuned the suspension and installed an uprated carbon ceramic brake system. Inside, the 430 Scuderia featured an array of sporty cockpit equipment and a different steering wheel-mounted Manettino switch that enabled the driver to better exploit the car’s potential.
All told, the 430 Scuderia was not only a good deal quicker than the base F430, it could lap Fiorano an astonishing two seconds quicker than an Enzo.
Disappointingly, most 430 Scuderia buyers opted to have their car painted “re-sale red” with just a handful of customers preferring to go with something a little more exciting. One such individual was Andreas Segler of Wieckenberg, Germany, who commissioned a truly one-off specification for his car which will be going under the hammer at Broad Arrow Auctions’ Villa d’Este sale on May 17th.
Segler placed his order through Ferrari Krüger in Hanover during November 2007 requesting out-of-range Porsche Green paint with Gold racing stripes and matching Gold wheels. For the interior, Segler went with Tessuto Nero upholstery and contrast Verde stitching. In total, Segler requested over €41,000 in optional extras.
Chassis ZFFKZ64B000162022 was delivered in July 2008 and the following month returned to Ferrari Krüger for the installation of an OMP fire suppression system. Today the car has covered a little under 10,000km. It heads to auction with a fully documented maintenance history having most recently been serviced at 9995km by Ferrari specialist Ineco Auto Verona in May 2025.
