History of chassis 5090

Chassis 5090 was the third of four Miuras built to SV/J specification between December 1971 and April 1973. It was completed on August 25th 1972 and dispatched to the French Lamborghini distributor, Voitures Paris Monceau.

5090 was ordered by serial Lamborghini owner, Paul Ferrandi. Ferrandi was a property developer from Ponte Leccia in Corsica and a partner in the Voitures Paris Monceau agency.

Paul Ferrandi had chassis 5090 configured with all the usual SV/J equipment such as a tuned engine, straight-through exhaust, modified bodywork and uprated suspension. He also specified a few optional extras such as a single windscreen wiper, plain instead of triple-eared wheel spinners, a limited-slip differential and a dry-sumped engine.

Like sister cars chassis 4934 (Shah of Iran) and 4990 (Alberto Silvera), chassis 5090 was painted Rosso Granada which was a colour created specially for the SV/J. Uniquely, 5090 left the factory with a Rosso leather interior complemented by Nero accents and matching Nero carpet.

Although he owned a property in Paris, upon its delivery to France, Ferrandi drove his new car back to Corsica. He retained it until 1982, by which time the Miura had covered around 13,000km.

At this point, the SV/J was sold to Alain Aouizerat from Saint Paul de Vance in Southeastern France. Aouizerat subsequently had the car repainted grey by Chapron in Paris.

In 1984, chassis 5090 was sold to Michel Barthey of Bonnac la Cote near Limoges. Barthey retained the Miura until 2006, by which time it had covered around 17,000km.
