History of chassis JLA12369

Of the 17 right-hand drive Countach Quattrovalvoles built with side skirts, the majority were painted white (Bianco).

One of these was chassis JLA12369 which was also configured with a rear spoiler. However, unlike any of the other white right-hand drive side skirted Quattrovalvoles, JLA12369 was ordered with a unique two-tone Rosso / Nero interior.

The car was ordered by a Mr Howard who collected it from the factory soon after completion on May 26th 1988.

Mr Howard drove his special order Countach back to the UK on the Escursionisti Esteri tourist plate EE 615 AK.

Soon after arrival in the UK, JLA12369 was seen at a Castle Combe track day, still wearing its temporary plates (top). A few weeks later, Mr Howard showed the car at a Lamborghini Owners Club event in Syon Park (above).

The Countach was eventually registered in the UK in December 1988 when it was issued the number plate F836 PYN. It was seen on this plate round the back of Portman Lamborghini’s showroom on George Street in London during the summer of 1989 (above).

By 1993, the car had been re-registered A15 OOS. It is depicted here in July of that year at the Silverstone Historic Festival.

JLA12369 has since gone through the hands of a couple more private UK owners.
