One to Buy: rare Bianco / Rosso 1967 Ferrari 330 GTC

Ferrari created the 330 GTC and drop head GTS as refined two-seaters to sell alongside the 275 GTB with its rakish Berlinetta-style bodywork. Other models in the range included the super high end and ultra low volume 365 California and the four-seat 330 GT which would soon be replaced by the 365 GT.

Despite having a desirable two-seat layout, GTC prices are today a fraction of the 275 GTB which in real world terms offers very similar levels of performance but slightly less practicality.

For some, the GTC’s gorgeous Coupe bodywork is even more appealing than the GTB which makes these cars really stand out in terms their excellent value for money (in vintage Ferrari terms at least!).

Unveiled alongside the 365 California at the Geneva Motor Show in March 1966, the 330 GTC was a replacement for Ferrari’s much-loved 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso and most notably ushered in a five-speed transaxle gearbox with enclosed fixed torque tube driveshaft (a feature subsequently adopted on the 275).

Currently on offer at the Autosport Designs showroom in Huntington Station, New York, is this beautifully configured 330 GTC completed in January 1967 and dispatched to Chinetti Motors in Greenwich, Connecticut.

This matching numbers car left Maranello in the stunning but rarely seen colour scheme of Bianco with Rosso upholstery. It was also optioned with air-conditioning on behalf of the first owner, Alfred Miller of New York, who retained it until 1977.

Today this beautiful 330 GTC is presented in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition and comes complete with a historical record documented by renowned Ferrari historian, Marcel Massini.
