For most of its life, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage was the only traditional front-engined Grand Tourer with sufficient punch to match the new generation of mid-engined supercars. Thanks to an intoxicating mix of Rolls-Royce build quality, handsome looks and spectacular performance, there was simply nothing to rival the bulldog from Newport Pagnell.

During the course of a near 13 year production run (from early 1977 to late 1989), Aston Martin updated the V8 Vantage with a host of cosmetic and mechanical improvements. Arguably the most significant of these came in early 1986 when the so-called X-Pack variant was introduced (the V580X).

The X-Pack featured all the performance-enhancing updates seen on the limited edition V8 Vantage Zagato along with some exterior details that made these last-of-line variants the best looking of the entire production run.

Just 137 examples of the fixed-head V8 Vantage X-Pack were produced, of which a mere 36 were completed in left-hand drive, one of which is currently on offer at the Autosport Designs showroom in Huntington Station, New York.

Originally delivered to the Italian market, this particularly fine example showing a mere 31,000km from new was configured in the traditional colour scheme of British Racing Green with Fawn upholstery and with the all-important five-speed manual gearbox.

Retained by the original owner until 2015 (at which point the car was exported to the United States), it has since resided with just one collector and throughout this period been maintained exclusively by the Aston Martin experts at Autosport Designs.

British Racing Green with Fawn Tan leather, Beige Wilton wool carpeting, 31,000 Kilometers/19,000 Original miles from new, 5-Speed manual ZF transmission, Rare Series III Vantage V580X or better known as The X-Pack Vantage, produced from 1986-1989.

This X-Pack V8 Vantage is one of just 137 total manufactured and 1 of only 36 extremely rare left hand drive examples manufactured.

The most powerful of the production Vantages, the X-Pack produced 410bhp from its 5.3 liter engine using high compression pistons, larger valves that the standard V8, larger inlet manifold and X-Pack Zagato specification camshafts breathing through 48mm Weber carburetors. The interior now updated from the Series II V8 Vantage included a new steering column and housing, various revised switchgear and tilt adjustment for the steering wheel.

Delivered new to Italy, this V8 Vantage has been in 1-Family, collector ownership through 2015. Purchased and imported to the United States in 2015 by Autosport Designs, Inc., it was sold immediately to a good client and friend of Autosport Designs and has remained in the collection since. It has been serviced and maintained when and were needed, including routine servicing by us since its import and collector ownership. Most recently it has received a full service tune, carb rebuild, new tires and alignment.

This V8 Vantage X-Pack is a two-owner matching numbers, original colors example from new and without a doubt one of the finest all original perfectly manicured and cared for V8 Vantage X-Packs in the world. It is superb in absolutely every respect! It has been maintained regardless of use and remains in ready to use or show condition.
