History of chassis DLA12576

Chassis DLA12576 was one of 323 Countach 5000 S built, of which 37 were right-hand drive.

Uniquely finished in Avorio Rosa with a Tobacco interior, the first owner reputedly chose the unusual exterior colour from a Dulux paint chart to match his garage door. He additionally requested a rear spoiler and body coloured wheels.

DLA12576 was dispatched to Portman Garage in London on May 4th 1983. It was subsequently UK registered ELN 238Y in June.

Early in its life, the car spent much time at Emblem Sports Cars in Pimperne, Dorset.

During the late 1980s, the car’s second owner was a frequent attendee of track days and club events.

In 2001, the apricot Countach was put up for auction with Coys by its third owner, but failed to sell.

It was then repainted blue and later exported to Australia where the rear spoiler was removed.
