VIN: Jeff White's Pink Lamborghini Countach 5000 S chassis DLA12555
History of chassis DLA12555
Chassis DLA12555 was among the most famous British-domiciled Countach during the 1980s. Of the 323 5000 S manufactured, only 37 were right-hand drive and none was anything like DLA12555.
Dispatched on January 26th 1983, it was ordered direct from the factory by Halifax dentist, Jeff White.
To Lamborghini Marketing Director Ubaldo Sgarzi’s horror, Mr White specified the Countach to match the colour of his girlfriend's sweat-shirt (pink and grey). Her belt was referenced for its upholstery (dark blue).
Registered LAM 207, chassis DLA12555 was frequently seen at track days and club events throughout the 1980s.
Mr White kept the Countach until 1993, when he part-exchanged it against a Lamborghini Diablo and Honda NSX at the Wheelhouse dealership in Nottingham. However, owing to its distinctive colour scheme, Wheelhouse were unable to find a buyer so repainted the car white.
Against the odds, DLA12555 was not the only Countach painted pink: the factory had also supplied a Middle Eastern customer with a pink over white leather LP400 S a couple of years earlier.
These photographs were taken at the Portman Lamborghini showroom on George Street in London (1987) and at Goodwood (1988).
