History of chassis DLA12554

37 right-hand drive Countach 5000 S were built by Lamborghini, but no others were configured like chassis DLA12554. It was ordered with Acapulco Blue paint, gold wheels, a two-tone blue and white interior and the expensive rear spoiler option.

DLA12554 was dispatched to Portman Garage in London on 31st January 1983 and registered QY 548 on behalf of its first Middle Eastern owner.

When the car was little more than a year old (and with less than 5000 miles on the clock), it was sold to British enthusiast, David Chidlow, and registered on the Jersey plate J 42796.

In February 1987, David Chidlow acquired a pearl white Quattrovalvole (chassis GLA12975). He part-exchanged DLA12554 which was put up for sale by Portman and sold to its next owner, Chris Michaelides.

The blue Countach was subsequently re-registered A723 LLN.
