History of chassis 30024

Chassis 30024 was one of two Zagato-bodied V8 Volantes configured in Salisbury Blue with Magnolia upholstery and Blue piping. The other was chassis 30014 which had a manual gearbox whereas 30024 was ordered with an automatic transmission. Both cars were right-hand drive.

30024 was supplied via Aston Martin Sales in Knightsbridge and registered G475 TYT on August 1st 1989. Two-and-a-half months later it was displayed by Aston Martin Sales at the London Motor Show (October 19th to 29th).

The first owner was Philip Lait of Epping, Essex. Lait’s company (Philip Lait International, based in Chingford, London) had been a successful producer or household furniture since the 1970s.

Philip Lait retained chassis 30024 until 2001, by which time the car had still only covered around 1000 miles.
