History of chassis 20057

Chassis 20057 was one of seven Aston Martin V8 Vantage Zagatos completed in Javelin Grey of which five were configured with Black leather upholstery. From this quintet, three were left-hand drive and two were right-hand drive: chassis 20017 (built in 1986) and chassis 20057 (built in 1987).

First registered in April 1988, chassis 20057 was subsequently re-sold on finance during the height of the speculator-driven exotic car boom in 1990. However, the buyer (who purchased the car through Bramley Motor Cars in Guildford) never made any re-payments on his £500,000 acquisition and chassis 20057 ultimately had to be re-possessed after a legal battle that saw the purchaser sentenced to a three-year jail term for fraud.

Bramley Motor Cars offered the car for sale again in 1993 and sold it to a long-term owner.

Chassis 20057 is depicted here at Bramley Motor Cars in 1993 (registered XE 33), again in 1995 (registered 1 GOT) and at the 1995 Silverstone Historic Festival.
