One to Buy: Hyperion Blue 1992 Ferrari F40

At Supercar Nostalgia we generally don’t like to cover anything from the resto-mod scene as, from a perspective of historical preservation, we believe cars should remain true to their original period state. However, we’ve made an exception for a particularly interesting F40 currently on the market at the Art & Revs showroom in Howald, Luxembourg, which is a good illustration of what might have been had Ferrari chosen to offer their range-topper in a wider choice of trim.

Chassis 94647 started life as a standard late production F40 originally delivered to an Italian customer in 1992.

In 2023, the current owner decided to use the by now 30,000km car as base with which to create his dream F40. With that in mind, chassis 94647 was completely dismantled and brought back up to effectively new condition with a handful of carefully chosen modifications.

Most obviously, the exterior colour was changed to Hyperion Blue and the seats re-upholstered in dark blue suede alcantara. An air-conditioning system was installed for added comfort.

Under the skin, the suspension and brakes were suitably enhanced, the former with a fully adjustable KW lift kit. Modified wastegates were another modification along with a Tubi Style exhaust system and an F40 LM gearbox (reputedly one of just 30 built).

With nominal mileage having been covered since completion, chassis 94647 is being offered in superb condition throughout complete with its original service book.
