One to Buy: 30,000 mile Giallo Fly 1973 Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona
/ Ben Tyer
There’s just something right about a Giallo Fly Daytona and this car looks about as perfect a specimen as you could hope to find.
A late US version delivered via Chinetti Garthwaite Imports in October 1973, chassis 16789 is showing 29,700 miles. It came with air-conditioning and full black leather. More recently, power steering has been added for increased practicality.
Between 1995 and 1997, a no-expense spared restoration was carried out. Since that time, over $100,000 has been spent on maintenance with the most recent service having been carried out in May.
Notably, chassis 16789 won gold at the Cavallino Classic in 2005 and the European Excellence Award at the Carmel-by-the-Sea Concours d’Elegance in 2008.
The car underwent Ferrari Classiche authentication in 2011 and is said to be “in pristine cosmetic condition, professionally detailed and show ready”.
It comes with the original book pack and tool kit, Massini report, known ownership records from new and two spare sets of wheels (Borrani wires and Cromodora five-spokes).
