VIN: the John Casti Lamborghini Countach LP400 chassis 1120254
History of chassis 1120254
Chassis 1120254 was ordered by Austrian-domiciled US author and mathematician, Dr John Casti.
Casti received his PhD in mathematics at the University of Southern California in 1968. He then worked at the RAND Corporation in Santa Monica and served as a professor at three US universities before becoming one of the first members of research staff at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Vienna during 1973.
Casti’s Countach was configured in the ever popular Giallo Fly with Champagne upholstery and was signed off on May 5th 1977. Casti collected the car from the factory and for the next few months it wore the temporary Escursionisti Esteri plate EE 70079.
John Casti kept 1120254 at his home in one of the upmarket districts of Vienna where it was subsequently registered W 557192.
In later years, the Countach was repainted red, but it has since been returned to its original colour scheme.
