History of chassis 30035

Aston Martin built 37 examples of the Zagato-bodied V8 Volante, but only chassis 30035 was painted Cobalt Blue (a Rolls Royce colour). The rest of the specification comprised Magnolia upholstery, Blue piping, a Blue hood, right-hand drive and manual transmission.

Significantly, chassis 30035 was converted to Vantage mechanical specification and Vantage Zagato front end styling by Aston Martin Works Service when new.

It left the factory on June 5th 1990 and was delivered to Aston Martin Sales in Knightsbridge. A couple of months later, the car was registered G492 TYT.

Aston Martin Sales sold chassis 30035 to a Mr Lloyd who was one of the partners at Bramley Motor Cars in Guildford. It is depicted here in Bramley’s showroom during the summer 1991.

30035 was sold to its second owner via HWM in 1992. At this point it had covered less than 2000 miles.

Soon afterwards, the car was crashed at high speed in the New Forest. The drivers of both cars involved were fatally injured.

Many years later, the wrecked remains of chassis 30035 were rebuilt.
