One to Buy: 1 of 1 Summer Yellow 103 mile 1988 Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera Club Sport

Although the red hot late 1980s collector car market saw an unprecedented number of new Porsches squirrelled away for investment / preservation, the rarely seen 911 3.2 Carrera Club Sport was a low volume highly focused special that generally got used hard.

Perhaps the reason why some big money collectors overlooked the Club Sport was its price which Porsche pitched on a par with the contemporary entry level 911 Carrera Coupe. By contrast, speculators and the uber wealthy tended to go for flashier Speedsters, Flachbau Turbos and 959s...

One aficionado who did recognise the Carrera Club Sport as a 1980s Porsche Great was renowned Denver-based Dr. William Jackson who accumulated one of North America’s most highly regarded Porsche collections.

Jackson ordered this Club Sport, chassis WP0AB0910JS1250, in the unique colour combination of Summer Yellow with Mahogany upholstery. Delivered in 1988, the car was subsequently preserved in ‘as-new’ condition alongside some of the most significant Porsche road and race cars in history.

The Summer Yellow 911’s subsequent three owners evidently took the same meticulous approach and, as a result, it presents superbly throughout.

According to Road Scholars, at whose showroom in Durham, North Carolina, the car currently resides: “the interior shows no wear of any kind, and the odometer shows just 103 miles. The finishes on the hardware in the engine bay are perfectly preserved with no signs of oxidation or corrosion, and even the VIN number sticker affixed to the transmission is in pristine condition.”
