There seems little doubt that the McLaren Speedtail has come as close to the ethos of the original McLaren F1 as any modern era supercar.
Constructed in a limited run of 106 units (as per its spiritual predecessor), the Speedtail was built around a state-of-the-art three-person carbonfibre monocoque in to which was dropped a twin turbocharged 1040bhp hybrid V8.
This Speedtail (chassis 042) was the very last to roll off the production line and was completed to a unique specification at the request of its first owner, Bruce Canepa.
Configured in the one-off colour combination of Canepa Rootbeer Brown pearl over an Italian Nubuck Tobacco leather interior, it is offered in as new condition having covered just 421 miles.
With such a handsome and unusual colour scheme plus its status as the final example completed, chassis 042 would make a fitting centre piece to almost any high end collection.
The car is currently on offer at the Canepa showroom in Scotts Valley, California.
