VIN: McLaren F1 chassis 063
History of chassis 063
Chassis 063 was the 51st McLaren F1 production car and one of eleven examples completed in 1997.
It was painted the most popular colour for an F1: Magnesium Silver.
No less than 18 of the 64 F1 production cars were painted Magnesium Silver which represented more than a quarter of the total run. 063’s interior was upholstered with light grey leather, a light grey alcantara dash, grey carpet and a red driver’s seat insert.
Chassis 063 is believed to have originally been delivered to a Japanese customer who retained it until late 2006. At this point, 063 was put up for sale, initially with Bingo Sports in Tokyo. In 2007 the car was exported to Hong Kong.
A few years later, 063 made its way to Europe. Between 2017 and 2019 the car was subjected to 3000 hour restoration at McLaren Special Operations.
