VIN: the Hew Dundas / Jay Kay Lamborghini Miura P400 SV chassis 4972
History of chassis 4972
Chassis 4972 was a left-hand drive Miura SV dispatched on December 13th 1971. It was originally configured in Rosso Corsa with a Senape interior, Oro wheels and matching Oro sills.
4972 was delivered via Antonio Peretti in Milan and later found its way to the UK (perhaps in 1975-1976 when it was issued the registration HWL 268N).
By the early 1980s, chassis 4972 was in the possession of Peter Oates who commissioned Graypaul Motors to restore the car. Work took place between 1982 and 1983, during which time 4972 was converted to right-hand drive.
In 1985, the red Miura joined the collection of Hew Dundas and was subsequently re-registered HRD 41.
During Dundas’ time with the car it was road tested for the Spring 1986 edition of Supercar Classics for which it starred on the front cover.
Hew Dundas sold chassis 4972 in 1988. The new owner, Bill Thomas, in turn sold the red Miura via Heathmans garage in London. It is depicted here at the Heathmans showroom in 1992.
Later in its life, 4972 briefly joined the collection of Jamiroquai frontman, Jay Kay, but he sold the car in 2005 after little more than a year.
In 2017, the car was restored by Cremoni in Italy, converted back to left-hand drive and subsequently exported to Canada.
