Despite having been launched back in 1979, Lancia’s compact Delta proved the class of the Group A field during the second half of the 1980s following the FIA’s decision to impose a ban on radical Group B machinery.

Between them, the Delta HF 4WD, HF Integrale and HF Integrale 16v recorded a trio of WRC Driver and Manufacturer titles during the 1987, 1988 and 1989 seasons. Lancia also claimed the 1990 Manufacturers’ crown although that year’s Drivers’ title went to Toyota’s Carlos Sainz. Nevertheless, Lancia hit back to secure both championships again in 1991.

To prolong the Delta’s lifespan just a little bit further, Lancia then released a fourth iteration of the HF Integrale upon which it could base a challenger for 1992. The Evoluzione that emerged duly delivered an unprecedented sixth straight Manufacturers’ title.

Lancia produced a variety of Evoluzione-based special editions over the next couple of years, among the most desirable of which were the Martini 5 (400 built) and Martini 6 (310 built) which mimicked the colour scheme used by the factory team in rallying.

In addition, a unique Martini Speciale was built for Italian singer, songwriter and author, Vasco Rossi.

Configured in a stunning black metallic Martini livery with custom graphics as opposed to normal white with black, Rossi’s car also came with a unique commemorative centre console plaque. Inside was an otherwise standard Martini 5 cockpit in black alcantara with red stitching, red seatbelts and high-backed HF-embossed Recaro front seats.

We think this is pretty much the coolest Delta road car ever built and its currently on sale at the Modena Motorsport showroom in Langenfeld, Germany. Offered in absolutely superb condition throughout, its covered a little over 57,000km from new and comes with a fully documented history.

If you want arguably the best Integrale Evo ever, this is it.
