The F was the fourth production iteration of Pagani’s much-heralded Zonda supercar and made its world debut at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2005.

Named in honour of Horacio Pagani’s fellow countryman, five-time Formula 1 World Champion Juan Manuel Fangio, the Zonda F ushered in several new features focused on weight saving, increased rigidity, airflow optimisation and improved output.

The F’s aero kit included a bigger chin splitter, new rear spoiler and reconfigured diffuser. Improved cooling solutions were also incorporated along with single-piece exposed carbonfibre headlight shrouds and new mirrors mounted atop the front fenders.

Currently on offer with DK Engineering in Chorleywood, Hertfordshire, is this one-of-one Zonda F that originally served as Pagani’s salon car at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2007.

Configured in the stunning colour scheme of Blu Monte Carlo with special order Nero bull leather upholstery, it also came with milled wheels that were only fitted to a pair of subsequent F Coupes.

Pagani sold the car to its second owner in 2013 who commissioned the factory to upgrade the diffusers, rear spoiler and exhaust to Cinque specification.

Reprinted below is DK Engineering’s description for this unique Zonda show car:

This Zonda F was completed by the factory ahead of its reveal at 2007 Geneva Motor Show in March 2007. The colour was borrowed from Alfa Romeo, a dark metallic hue in the form of Blu Monte Carlo, split by the belt line as is traditional for Zondas with lower exposed carbon fibre.

Supplied new to its Italian first owner, already a C12 S owner, this example received a number of special wishes. The wheels of this example were ordered as a special request to Horacio, who after much deliberation revised the hubs and allowed bespoke centre lock wheels, making it the first road car with this feature. Just two further F coupes would receive these from factory. This example too features a special order ‘Bull leather’ interior, a high grain hide that remains with the car to date. Certainly one of the best cared for examples extant, this F has covered limited mileage from new, presenting as you would expect.

The car would remain with its first owner until 2013. It was used sparingly but was notably seen in Como, Italy in 2011 during the Villa d’Este Concours d’Elegance. Shortly afterwards, the car visited Sweden, where it was displayed at Sportbilsdagen, a car show in Västervik, Sweden.

In 2013, the factory brokered the sale to the most recent custodian with whom the car would remain for nearly 10 years. At this time, the car was lightly modified, receiving the ‘Zonda Cinque’ upgrades; notably the front and rear diffuser, raised adjustable rear wing and the all-important Cinque exhaust.

The car returned to the factory in 2017 for a service after featuring in an international logistics advert with Emirates.

Very much in support of its low mileage, there are a wealth of details on the car that highlight just carefully this car has been kept. The wheels for example are milled from a single piece and retain the milling lines on the edges of the spokes as well as on the face below the lacquer. These markings are so unique, the wheel finish appears unusual as the factory has since changed their process to ball-polishing for a similar but more straightforward procedure.

The interior of this car remains as it was supplied and shown at Geneva; understood to be the sole example commissioned with black high-grain ‘Bull’ leather with black diamond-stitched seat centres and floor mats. It is accompanied by its original and complete matching luggage set; both the side panniers accompany the car- with their original Schedoni covers, along with the seat-back suit carrier, matching leather book pack and pouch containing the manual window winder. The interior is superbly equipped with lacquered wood Nardi Kallista steering wheel and matching gearstick and handbrake grip.

This F remains to this day one of the best cared for examples extant. Having low mileage from new, this example presents as you would expect. Originally supplied new to its first keeper on July 31st 2007 in Italy, the total price of the car new was just over €540,000.
