One to Buy: 16,000 mile Alpina Green 1991 Lister 7.0 Le Mans

Although Germany was rightly regarded as the centre for super tuner activity from the 1970s through to the 1990s, a handful of British firms also created some epic machinery, one of which was Lister.
Having become known for a successful line of Jaguar-powered sports racing cars in the 1950s, the original company founded by Brian Lister went out of business in the early 1960s. It was subsequently revived by Laurence Pearce in 1986 and quickly developed a reputation for producing the best modified Jaguars on the market.
Most famous of these was the wild Lister 7.0 Le Mans which featured a radically re-modelled body, uprated suspension, brakes and wheels, a beefed-up six-speed transmission and a mammoth 6996cc V12 that pumped out over 500bhp.

Currently on offer at the Contempo Concept showroom in Kowloon, Hong Kong is a fine example of these rarely seen cars: chassis 045LJ15LM.
One of a reputed 20 Coupes built to 7.0 Le Mans specification, this car was originally painted red and, following conversion, supplied to a UK purchaser in July 1991. It remained on British shores until 2010, then spent a brief period in Australia (where it was repainted black) and arrived in Hong Kong during 2012 where it has resided ever since.
In 2021, chassis 045LJ15LM underwent a major, all encompassing refurbishment that included a colour change to its current shade of BMW Alpina Green. The car is showing just over 16,000 miles and is being offered with a documented history back to day one.
