VIN: the 1971 Geneva Motor Show Lamborghini Miura P400 SV chassis 4846
History of chassis 4846
Chassis 4846 was the first Miura SV completed by Lamborghini. It was originally configured in the handsome colour scheme of Verde Metallizato with Senape upholstery. The wheels and sills were painted gold and the left-hand drive car was signed off on March 8th 1971.
Three days later it went on display at the Geneva Motor Show where it starred on the Bertone stand in between the new Countach LP500 prototype and the Lancia Stratos Zero.
Following a ten-day sojourn in Geneva, chassis 4846 was dispatched to Lamborghini’s Swiss distributor, Garage Foitek in Zurich.
Karl Foitek had most likely already pre-sold the green Miura for, on March 19th, chassis 4846 was registered to Zurich resident Lutz Harrewyn who retained it until May 1973.
The car was then sold to Eddy Davelaar of Regensdorf.
It remained in Switzerland until the late 1990s, by which time the colour had been changed from green to red.
During 2015 chassis 4846 became the first major restoration carried out by Lamborghini’s new Polo Storico department.
