History of chassis ELA12717

Chassis ELA12717 was one of 37 right-hand drive Countach 5000 S built between 1982 and 1985.

It was dispatched from the factory on June 21st 1984 and arrived at Portman Lamborghini in London a few days later. The colour scheme was Nero with a Panna interior and the optional rear spoiler was specified.

However, there had been a mistake; the customer that placed the order, Ian Maxwell of Yorkshire, had reputedly specified Rosso paint.

Nevertheless, the customer accepted the car and, in early 1988, Portman repainted the car red.

Throughout this period, chassis ELA12717 wore the plate B350 WYE. The initial date of registration was deferred a few weeks so the car could be issued a B-prefix plate.

Later, ELA12717 spent several years in Monaco.
