History of chassis DLA12627

Chassis DLA12627 was one of several Countach originally purchased by Town and Country Car Rental.

Headquartered in Middlesex (on the outskirts of London), Town and Country had ten branches around England. Famously, they were the only rental company in Britain to offer cars from the likes of Rolls Royce, Aston Martin, Ferrari and Lamborghini.

At the time, a Countach was available for £315 per day or £1890 a week.

DLA12627 was configured in Bianco with a matching white interior and the expensive rear spoiler option.

It was dispatched from the factory on December 10th 1983 and arrived in the UK shortly afterwards.

The car was not registered until after August 1st 1984 so it could be issued with a B-prefix plate (B163 VNM).

In early 1985, Car magazine promoted a Town and Country competition. Chassis DLA12627 headed the promotional campaign (as depicted here).

In later years, the white Countach was purchased by Steven Edwards and registered SKE 21.
