VIN: Lamborghini Countach 25th Anniversary chassis KLA12633
History of KLA12633
KLA12633 was one of 67 right-hand drive Countach 25th Anniversarys built between 1988 and 1990.
It was ordered by David Needham of Worcester to replace his 1988 Countach Quattrovalvole (chassis JLA12309). As per that earlier vehicle, KLA12633 was invoiced to Needham’s company, The Carpet Factory in Stourport-on-Severn.
Mr Needham configured KLA12633 in Rosso Perlato paint with Panna upholstery and Rosso piping. Unlike his Quattrovalvole, the Anniversary was supplied without a rear spoiler.
KLA12633 was dispatched from Sant’Agata on May 24th 1989 and delivered to Portman Lamborghini in London.
It was registered G452 TYU on July 31st.
Three other red Anniversarys were also registered that day and issued consecutive number plates (G451 TYU, G452 TYU, G453 TYU and G454 TYU).
Later on, David Needham switched the car over to his personal plate, 15 DWN.
KLA12633 is depicted here at the Silverstone Historic Festival in July 1993 and at Lamborghini Great Britain in May 1995 during the launch event for the Diablo SE30 Jota.
Later in the 1990s, the red Countach was sold, at which point the UK licensing body (the DVLA) realised that the car’s original ‘G’ prefix plate was issued in error; ‘G’ prefix plates were only given out from August 1st 1989 and not before. KLA12633 was subsequently issued with an ‘F’ prefix plate (F139 RRO).
