One to Buy: unique in Blu Sera 1993 Ferrari 348 tb Serie Speciale

Although the Ferrari 348 developed a reputation for nervous on-limit handling, most drivers will never approach the limit of its abilities and, as one of the prettiest automotive designs from the late 1980s / early 1990s, we’re inclined to forgive the occasional foible.

In addition to the tb / ts and its GTB / GTS successor, Ferrari produced a number of special versions based on the 348 platform, one of which was the Serie Speciale created for the US market.

Thanks to a free-flow exhaust system, the Serie Speciale boasted an extra 10bhp over the contemporary fixed head tb and targa-topped ts. Other model specific equipment included leather-covered two-piece Kevlar sports seats from the US spec. F40, a deep body coloured chin spoiler, body coloured aprons to the sides and rear, exposed tail lights, chrome prancing horse emblems and wider rear track.

Currently on sale with The Barn Miami is the 45th of the 100 Series Speciales built between 1992-1993 and one of just 33 completed to more desirable tb trim.

Somewhat remarkably given how good it looks, this car, chassis 94873, was the only Serie Speciale finished with spectacular Blu Sera paint, one of our favourite shades for the Pininfarina-designed 348.

Chassis 94873 is being offered with a little under 20,000 miles on the odometer and comes complete with its original book pack and tool kit.
